Jack Straughan

Burlington, NC Jack Roosevelt Straughan, age 73, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2009 surrounded by his family. He was a native of Orange County and the husband of the late Peggy Ann Harden Straughan. Jack retired from Copeland Fabrics with over 30 years of service.. He attended Pilgrims Chapel and was a veteran of the National Guard. Jack was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and he enjoyed fishing in his spare time. Survivors include his daughters, Melinda Agnew and her husband, Darryl of Burlington, Patty Lee and her husband, Ricky of Elon; sons, Richard Straughan of Alamance, Timothy Straughan and his wife, Angela of Julian; grandchildren, Kevin Lee, Angela Lee, Dwayne Straughan, Ann Wynn, Blake Agnew, Brittany Straughan, Josh Lee, Gene Straughan, Nikki Wynn, Casey Straughan and Eddie Straughan; great grandchildren, Logan Lee, Jordan Lee, Ramsey Lee and Taylor Lee. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, Paul and Jessie Stanley Straughan; 1 sister and 5 brothers. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Howard Thompson and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home and other times at the home.
