Jack Wells

Mr. Jack Warren Wells, 79, of 207 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, passed away at his home on March 21, 2009. Born September 27, 1929, he was the husband of more than 58 years to Pauline Chambers Wells. Born in Richmond County, NC, he was the son of the late Otis Franklin Wells, Sr. and Flora Alice Roney Wells. He is survived by his wife, one son, Dr. Keith Wells, Sr. Dr. Nancy Fleming Wells, two grandchildren, KJ Wells and Katie Wells of Elon. He is also survived by two brothers, James Bernard Wells Faye of Burlington, and Ernest Don Wells Clara of Wichita Falls, Texas. Preceding him in death were his brothers Otis Franklin Wells, Jr. and Billy Wells. After serving in the United States Navy, Jack Joined the Western Electric Company and AT&T. He retired with 37 years of service. During those years he spent time with the company in Kwajalein, Marshall Islands, North Dakota and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Jack was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Bula Lodge #409 A.F. & A.M., a member of the Burlington Shrine Club and a member of Harvest Baptist Church. Lodge members are asked to be at the funeral home by 1:30 Monday. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Monday, March 23, 2009 at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Larry Lamberth and Rev. Allen Filgo. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday, March 22, 2009 at the funeral home and at other times at the home of his son 403 Truitt Dr., Elon.
