BURLINGTON- Jacqueline "Jacqi" Alspaugh Carson, age 75, died Friday, February 4, 2011 at her home in Twin Lakes. Born in Winston-Salem, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Eugene and Gertrude Wuesthoff Alspaugh and was married for 39 years to the late Edward "Dick" Carson. Jacqi was the co-owner of Ja-Dik Corporation before working as a regional manager with McKesson General Medical for 25 years. Jacqi was an extremely active member at First United Methodist Church of Elon. She was also involved as a volunteer with Loaves and Fishes, Hospice, and Red Cross. Jacqi served as a coordinator of the food drive through the Lane of Lights in Twin Lakes. Jacqi was preceded in death by her husband and parents. She is survived by her children, Debra Speas of Burlington, Richard Speas and his wife, Barbara, of New Jersey, and her step-daughter Jan Germain of Virginia. She has six grandchildren, Shawn Germain, Erin Germain, Chris Germain, Brittany Germain, Brooke Speas and Lauren Speas. She is also survived by sisters, Paula Andris, Betty Sprinkle and Jean Crutchfield; and brother, James Alspaugh and wife Hazel. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday evening, February 11th at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 12, 2011 at First United Methodist Church of Elon by the Rev. Terry Huffines. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Loaves and Fishes Christian Food Ministry, 509 S. Lexington Ave., Burlington, NC 27215, Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215 or First United Methodist Church of Elon, 1630 Westbrook Ave., Elon, NC 27244.
