James Ashe

Burlington James Harold Ashe, 98, of Burlington went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 11, 2013 at the Hospice Home. He was born in Franklin, NC to the late Lonnie William and Mina Victoria Wilkes Ashe and was married for 39 years to Anna Taylor Ashe who survives. He was formerly employed by Associated Transport and was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church. He was a talented welder who could make almost anything. He is survived by his wife of the home; daughter, Yvonne Ralph Grow of VA; stepdaughter, Dolores Apple of Graham; stepson, Jimmy Henderson of Elon; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and siblings, William Claude Ashe of Franklin and Tearl Francis Ashe of Sylvia. He was preceded in death by his son, James "Jimmy" Harold Ashe, Jr. an infant son, parents, and 3 siblings. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday at Grove Park Baptist Church by Rev. Bill Vickrey with interment to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00-2:45 Sunday prior to the service at the church.
