James Joseph Esposito, born on January 25, 1977, in Manhattan, NY, ascended to be with the Lord on December 7, 2023, at the age of 46. James passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family and friends at the Burlington Hospice Home after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
James was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and for the past 23 years, he's been a dedicated Correctional Officer in the Department of Justice. James was a man of the highest integrity, grit, and strength of character. He was selfless, loyal, faithful, and provided unwavering support and protection to his cherished friends and family.
James was as strong as an ox and as gentle as a lamb, putting the desire of others before his own. He was just as courageous and inspirational in facing death as he was in life. He never complained or felt sorry for himself, he maintained his faith and compassion for others, and trusted in God’s love and will until his last breath. His body may have broken, but we can rejoice that his spirit never wilted or wavered to the very end, with his last words being, “Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ”.
James loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, had an infectious silly sense of humor, and found joy going to the movies, the gym, and the shooting range. He loved eating sweets, relishing all kinds of desserts, and enjoyed the simple pleasures of watching football, UFC, and savoring a delicious burger with friends.
James was a devoted and loving husband to his wife Tamara, a dedicated father and remarkable example of discipline to his 24-year-old son Jimmie. He was a supporting and encouraging father to his 23-year-old stepson Kadin, a loving son and brother to his parents Bernie and Millie, sister Elizabeth, and brother Guy. He was a loyal, hilarious, protective, and loving uncle, cousin, and friend to so many who were blessed to know him. We bid farewell to James, finding solace that we will one day be reunited with him in paradise.
