James “Jamie” Everett Pharr, Jr., 66 of Burlington, unexpectedly passed away in his home early Thursday, February 26, 2026. He was born on May 17, 1959 to Mildred Elizabeth Carroll and James Everett Pharr, Sr.
Jamie was employed at Southern Pride in Burlington for many years before retiring at the age of 62, as a dump truck driver. He enjoyed spending time with family, his church brothers and sisters in Christ and spending time at the beach and fishing.
Jamie is survived by his wife, Tammy Johnson Pharr of the home; his daughter, Brittany Russell of Graham; his sister, Susie Coleman of Burlington; his brother, Wayne Thompson and wife, Kay of Swepsonville; three step sons, and three step grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Billy Thompson and sister, Janet Wagoner.
Jamie was well known and involved member of Kinnett Memorial Baptist Church. As was evident in the way he lived, Jamie loved and admired his relationship with his Saviour Jesus Christ. The Lord transformed Jamie in to a new creation with a testimony of redeeming and amazing grace. Even through tears we claim this truth. In Christ, there is a resurrection. In Christ, there is reunion. In Christ, there is hope.
A memorial service will be held at Kinnett Memorial Baptist Church in Burlington, NC, this coming Saturday, March 7th at 11:00AM, officiated by Rev. Don Pegg.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Kinnett Memorial Baptist Mission’s Fund.
