James Morris

James Person "Pete" Morris, 79, of 2111 Holland Ave passed away Thursday, January 04, 2007 at his home. Mr. Morris was born October 21, 1927 in Johnston county to the late Richmond Hopkins and Agnes Stroud Morris. He was the husband of 56 years to Shirley B. Morris. Mr. Morris retired from Cone Mills after 42 years of service. He was a member of Eastlawn Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors other than his wife include a daughter, Rose M. and her husband Dr. James Fleming of Elon; one son, James Curtis Morris and his wife April of Liberty; four grandchildren, Tanya Gooch, Tonya Tubbs, Brandon Morris, and Jordan Morris; one great-grandson, Braxton Tubbs; two brothers, Gene Morris and Bobby Morris both of Burlington; two sisters, Frances Brown of Burlington and Brenda Beatty of Charlotte, NC. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, January 7, 2007 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Chaplain Susan Kane. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the residence.
