James R. "Bud" Mullins, Sr.

James R. “Bud” Mullins, Sr. 94, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at the Hospice home. He was a native of Alamance County and the son of the late Clarence Mordeca Mullins and Blanche Gurkin Mullins. He was the husband 51 years to the late Peggie Allen Mullins.

Bud retired after many years in Textiles as an Executive Vice President with Ramtex. He was a US Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Elon. Bud was an avid golfer and he enjoyed family beach trips to Ocean Isle. He also enjoyed listening to Blues, Jazz and Bluegrass music.

Survivors include his son, James R. “Rudy” Mullins II of Burlington and his daughter, Theresa Mullins Simpson and husband, Tate of St. Mary’s, Georgia; his grandchildren, Trey Simpson and Heather (Shawn) Folsom and his great grandchildren, Zachary and Kaitlyn Klincko.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings, Mitchell Mullins, Gilda Barham and Dorothy Duncan.

A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, November 17, 2026 at Pine Hill Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Jesse Baker.
