Burlington Our Daddy, James Julius "Buddy" Stallings, 72, of Burlington beloved Husband, Father, Pawpaw and Friend went home to be with Lord on November 21, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services celebrating Daddy's life will be held 12 o'clock noon on Saturday at First Baptist Church of Elon on East Haggard Avenue with his family receiving friends at the church from 10:00-11:45 am prior to the service. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. Daddy was born on April 26, 1940 in Alamance County to the late John Carl Stallings Sr., and Edna Vivian Jarrett Stallings. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Wayne Stallings. He's been retired for 12 years from Alamance Community College. Daddy was a man who loved life and lived it to the fullest. He enjoyed being outdoors riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, hunting, gardening, going to the beach and spending time with his family. Daddy took pride in offering help to others, in any way he could. There was no project was ever too large for him to attempt! He will be deeply missed by those who loved and cherished him. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Betty Sue Stallings; son Keith Stallings, daughters Robin Smithey and husband Gabriel Smithey, Wendy Way and Fianc Ricky Talley, Tina Swain and husband Brent Swain, brother John Carl "JC" Stallings, Jr., sisters Letha Lea and Louise Gulley. Seven grandchildren, Leslie Lucas and husband Paul Lucas, Lauren Buzzard and husband Justin Buzzard, Whitney Way, Stacy Way, Jordan Way, Coleman and Cassie Swain and three great grandchildren, Mason Lee Buzzard, McKinley Lynn Buzzard and Max Hurley Lucas. The family would like to express a heartfelt "Thank You" to the staff at Hospice Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell for their support and compassion in helping the family transition Daddy into his eternal life, within the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loving family. You are truly God's Angels! Also, many thanks to the nursing staff on 2nd floor and in the CCU area of Alamance Regional Hospital for their compassion and care during Daddy's illness. You each have a special place in Heaven!
