Jane Mabrey Allred, 84 went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 31, 2026 after 8 months of failing health. She was the daughter of the late Ralph Victor Mabrey, Sr. and Ruby Irene Carroll Mabrey Allred. She was the wife of 36 years to the late Thomas Lee “Tommy” Allred who passed in 2017.
Jane was a 1960 graduate of Walter Williams High School. She was a longtime member of Concord Christian Church and active as long as her health permitted. She was a homemaker living most of her life in Caswell County. She was very active in her community with 4H, over the years she won several blue ribbons at the County fair for Canning. Jane was a collector of teapots and she loved to watch “I Love Lucy” on TV. She had never flown in an airplane until 2017 when Michele took her to Disney World. Jane enjoyed traveling with her family to the mountains and the beach, and looking at lighthouses. Jane at 75 years old learned how to use a computer and text on her smart phone. She enjoyed learning about technology. Her greatest accomplishment was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Jane is survived by her devoted daughter, Michele Sweeney and her husband, John; her grandson, Michael Andrew Massey and his significant other, Jessica Vinning and her great grandsons, Colt and Hunter; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; special niece, Bonnie Su Mabrey and her husband, Timmy and several other nieces and nephew.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, husband; her grandson, Marcus Eugene Massey; her twin sister, Pamela Sue Mabrey Temple and a brother, Ralph Victor “Bill” Mabrey, Jr.
A service to Celebrate her life will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 1:00PM at Concord Christian Church by Pastor Steve Hinton. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00-1:45PM prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
