Janet Arneson

Mrs. Janet Vaughan Arneson, age 72, of 3724 Luther Court, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several months of failing health. Born in Minneapolis, MN, she was the daughter of the late Clinton and Ruth Apel Vaughan and was married for 50 years to D. Byron Arneson, who survives. She graduated from Hamline University in St. Paul, MN and later received her masters degree from Cleveland State University. She was a longtime Medical Technologist with the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH and later worked in the pharmaceutical industry. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Burlington and was active in the Ladies' Circles. She was an excellent cross-stitcher and quilter and was involved in Alamance Piecemakers Quilt Guild. Janet was an avid gardener as well as active in the Twin Lakes Resident Council. She was a lover of classical music and enjoyed attending numerous concerts, symphonies and recitals with her husband, Byron. Mrs. Arneson is survived by her husband of the home; two sons, Kenneth Arneson and his wife, Judy, of Chapel Hill and David Arneson and his wife, Sarah, of Carrboro; and three grandchildren, Micaela, Michael and Samuel Arneson. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 9, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church of Burlington by Dr. Ron Shive. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Burlington, 508 W. Davis St., Burlington, NC 27215 or to The Cancer Center at Alamance Regional Medical Center, 1236 Huffman Mill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215. Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Arneson family.
