Janice Loman Allman, age 81, of Elon, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.
Janice Allman loved the Lord with all of her heart, soul, mind and strength. Raised a preacher’s daughter, she learned early the calling and sacrifice of caring for others. Later becoming a pastor’s wife, she would prove to be an integral part of the ministry she and her husband were called to. Janice was the very definition of a Proverbs 31 woman. She loved and honored her husband, she lovingly cared for her children, and she never considered putting the needs of others before herself a sacrifice. Janice gladly stepped into any role that needed to be filled at the church; children’s worker, youth leader, heading up women's’ ministry, church janitor, head cook for men’s breakfast, couples retreat coordinator, etc. Janice also loved to cook and to bake. Her door was always open and every Sunday, she knew to make more than enough lunch for her family as guests were always welcome. She sewed for herself, her family and for others, making a little extra money that she always spent on others (mostly her children). Janice Allman loved deeply, forgave quickly and sought peace above all things. Janice Allman lived her life unto the Lord and was a tremendous godly influence for anyone who knew her.
Janice was the daughter of the late Rev. J. Harold and Elizabeth Loman. She had 4 brothers, Larry Loman (Kay), Lane Loman (Gretchen), Richard Loman (Tammy) and Leslie Loman (Donna). She was the faithful, loving, supportive wife of 42 years to Rev. C. Max Allman, who went home to be with the Lord in 2002. Together they have 3 children, Rob Allman (Peggy), Robin Riggins (Steve) and Chris Allman (Kim). Janice was Mamaw to 13 grandchildren, Katie Parker (Brian), Caroline Schmid (Jeremy), Dr. Rob Allman (Julia), Max Allman (Tatiana), Brycen Woodley (Tara), Grace Allman, Wes Fogleman (Kendal), Caleb Riggins (Morgan), Eli Riggins (Logan), Dustin Allman (Amanda), Jillian Street (Tucker), Emory Allman (Ashley) and Jules Allman. Janice also has 16 great-grandchildren.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. C. Max Allman; parents, Rev. J. Harold and Elizabeth Loman; her grandson, Caleb Riggins; her great-granddaughter, Annabelle Fogleman and her brother, Larry Loman.
