Jean Ann Roddin Bretz, age 60, of 6619 Barton Creek Drive went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Brooklyn, New York and the wife of 39 years to Kenneth Bretz who survives. Jean was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time in libraries and was an avid reader. Jean loved going to the beach and celebrating holidays and especially Christmas with her family. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Bretz of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn Moon and her husband, Carroll of Matthews, Christine Bretz and her husband, Michael Engelbrecht of Charlotte; Sons and Daughter-in-law, Chris Bretz and his wife, Hiroko of Roseville, Minnesota, Doug Bretz and his fiancee, Jennifer Mahan of Apex; grandchildren, Emily and Jeb Moon, Peter Engelbrecht; her father, Edward A. Roddin of Monroe Township, New Jersey; brothers, Joseph Roddin of Holbrook, New York, Daniel Roddin of Morristown, New Jersey, James Stenson of Brielle, New Jersey, Joseph Stenson of Ypsilanti, Michigan and John Stenson of Levittown, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her mother, Genevieve Roddin and step mother, Mary Quinlan; a brother, Edward Roddin. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday with a Catholic Prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will be at the residence at other times. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4-A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro , NC 27407-2145 or The Blessed Sacrament Church, 328 W.
