Jean Griffin Fox

Jean Griffin Fox, passed away on her 79th birthday, June 1, 2025, at Moses Cone Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Irwin County, Georgia in 1946, to the late Cecil Griffin and Ruby Willis Griffin, and was the wife of 35 years to the late Donald "Don" Lynn Fox, Sr. who passed away in 2002.

Jean retired after dedicating 25 years of her life to a fulfilling career at Lucent Technologies. However, it was in the role of a grandmother that her heart truly blossomed. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, creating beautiful memories and instilling in them the values of family and the simple pleasures in life. Fishing was a cherished pastime for Jean, especially during the moments spent with her husband Don and their son Lynn while he was growing up. She also enjoyed reading, relaxing with a good book, sharing a cup of coffee, and beach trips filled with laughter and joy.

Survivors include her devoted son, Donald "Lynn" Fox, Jr. and his wife Theresa; her grandchildren that she adored, Hunter Fox and Hailey Fox; her beloved sister, Clara Driver and her husband Eddie; her treasured nieces, Michelle French and her husband Leonard, Dawn Hammond, Angel Warren, and Sonya Nunez and her husband Jamie; a nephew Thomas Driver and his wife Krystle; several great nieces and nephews; and other extended family members who were blessed to have her in their life. Jean has now been reunited with her loving parents, Cecil and Ruby Griffin, her husband, Don Fox and her brother, Thomas Cecil Griffin.

As we reflect on Jean's life, we remember a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose love and compassion touched everyone around her. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she has influenced, reminding us all of the beauty of family and the importance of cherishing each moment together.
