Jean Starks

Jean "Bangy" Thorson Starks, age, 87, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, January 03, 2015 at Alamance Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was born in Forest County, Wisconsin on March 11, 1927 to the late Lloyd and Ruth Thorson. Jean was a lifetime member of TrueLight Baptist Church in Gibsonville and was a beloved mother and "Bangy" to all her family. Survivors include her son, Lindon Hooper and wife Joan of Burlington; daughters, Suzanne Walker and husband Gene of Gibsonville, Bonnie Deppert of the home and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Carol and son-in-law, Kenneth "Cotton" Hathaway and a grandson, Charles Hathaway. A service to celebrate her life will be held Monday, January 5, 2015 at 1:00 pm at TrueLight Baptist Church by Pastor Tommy Marley with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 pm prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to TrueLight Baptist Church, 500 Second St., Gibsonville, NC 27249.
