Jean Wagoner

Burlington Jean "Pat" Cates Wagoner, age 75 went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family. A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Daniel William Wagoner. She was preceded in death by her parents, Garland Arthur Cates and Margie Lloyd Cates and her beloved daughter, Dana Kay Wagoner. Surviving are her son, Robert William Wagoner; daughter, Bari Lynn Prevatte; grandson/adopted son, Christopher Shea Wagoner; granddaughters, Harli Prevatte, Ashley Matkins, Emma Wagoner; great grandson, Brayden Wagoner and a brother, William "Bill" Cates and wife, Jane Isley Cates. Pat was a member of St. Mark's Church and a retiree of Lucent Technologies, Guilford Center. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mark's Church by Rev. Bob Disher and Dr. Dale Steele and the burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home. Pat's family expresses their appreciation to the many caring doctors, nurses and volunteers of the ARMC Cancer Center and to Pat's church family, classmates, co-workers and friends for the prayers, cards and compassion shown to Pat during her lengthy illness.
