Jeanne Greeson Ingold, 91, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 28, 2022. She was born August 14, 1931, in Guilford County to the late Denny Murphy and Emma Florence Greeson Ingold.
Jeanne graduated from Alamance High School in 1949, Catawba College in 1953 and Lancaster Theological Seminary in 1955. After graduating she begin her career as director of Christian Education: Faith UCC in Philadelphia, PA from 1955-1957, Corinth UCC in Hickory NC from 1958-1970. She completed her career as Supervisor of the Language Lab at Lenoir Rhyne College from 1970 until retirement in 1996. She was a longtime member of Mt. Hope United Church of Christ, active in Sunday School and the women’s work of the church. Jeanne was a caregiver for her parents and sibling in the later years of her life. She has fought the good fight and finished her earthly course obtaining a Crown of Righteousness.
Jeanne is survived by her sister-in-law, LuEller Ingold and 15 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Helen Clarine Ingold, Iona Ingold Humble and her husband, Elmer, Elsie Mildred Ingold, Johnsie Ingold Clapp and her husband, Lee and Wanda Ingold Amick and husband, Coy and her brothers, James “Jim” Ingold and Murphy Floyd Ingold.
The service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Mt. Hope United Church of Christ officiated by Rev. Kristin Gerner-Vaughn. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the committal service in the sanctuary of the church.
