Jerry Holyfield, Jr.

Elon Jerry Wayne Holyfield, Jr. 43, of 110 Old Charleston Drive passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010 at his residence. Jerry was born December 22, 1966 in Alamance County to Jerry Wayne Holyfield, Sr. and Betty W. Holyfield. He was married to Leslie H. Holyfield. Jerry was owner and operator of J.M.W. Concrete Contractors and J.M.W. Construction Supply for more than 20 years. He was a graduate of Western High School and North Carolina State University. Jerry loved his work, driving his race car, his cabin cruiser boat, but most of all his family especially his two sons, Trey and Carson. Survivors include his wife, parents, and his sons, Jerry W. "Trey" Holyfield, III and Carson Lane Holyfield; a sister, Melony Holyfield Allen and her husband, Roney; a brother, John Wesley Holyfield and his wife, Brooke; his grandfather, Richard Westbrook; step-children, Brendan and Julia Thompson. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Polly and Clyde Holyfield and Helen Westbrook. A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Altamahaw Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Tucker officiating. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Saturday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
