Jerry Splawn

Jerry L. Splawn, age 85, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Twin Lakes HealthCare. A native of Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Virgil Baxter and Bessie Estelle Stuart Splawn. Mr. Splawn was CEO of Splawn Belting and a graduate of N.C. State University, where he was a member of the track team and Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was a former member of the Burlington Lions Club, a U.S. Army Veteran, where he also ran track, and a member of First Presbyterian Church. After his family and his company, his loves were Cherry Grove Beach and playing golf. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Nell Whittington Splawn; sons, Jerry Michael Splawn and wife Vivian and Stephen Renick Splawn and wife Angie all of Burlington; daughter, Rebecca Lynne Splawn of Raleigh; grandchildren, Michael Morgan Splawn and Stephen Renick Splawn, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday, April 3, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church by Dr. Ron Shive, pastor. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Mr. Splawn will remain at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory until being taken to the church for services. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 6-8pm Thursday and at the residence at other times.
