Jewell Simmons

Jewell Conner Simmons, age 72, of 81 Porter G. Simmons Rd., passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. A native of Rutherford County, she was the wife of Johnny C. Simmons and daughter of the late Clyde Freeman and Lillie Brown Conner. She was a lifelong homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her husband, Johnny C. Simmons of the home; son, Kenneth Wayne Conner of Old Fort; brothers, Carroll Conner and Jerry Conner both of Tryon, Jack Conner of Newton, Ray Conner of Marion and Pat Conner of Old Fort; sisters, Josephine C. Brown and Karen C. Harris, both of Marion, Peggy C. Davis of Old Fort. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lillie C. Hodge. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held at a later date in Old Fort, NC.
