Mr. Jimmie Wayne Whitesell, age 83, of McLeansville, left his earthly home to go to his Heavenly home on Friday, October 30, 2026 at the Hospice Home of Alamance-Caswell after several months of failing health. Jimmie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Born in Alamance County, he was the son of the late Hurley Whitesell and the late Thelma Chrismon Whitesell and was married for over 62 years to Mrs. Jean Whitesell, who survives. Jimmie was employed with Western Electric for 20 years before retiring from Lorillard Tobacco Company after 32 years. He was a Mason and a member Tobasco Lodge #271 in Gibsonville, where he served as Master Mason in 1984. He volunteered with McLeansville Fire Department for over 20 years and was a member of Apple’s Chapel Christian Church. Jimmie was an avid golfer and was a “jack of all trades”.

Jimmie is survived by his wife, Jean, of the home; three children, Martina (Chad) Wrenn, Brian (Wendy) Whitesell and Michelle (Ed) Kato; seven grandchildren, Zachary Brady, Sydney (Adam) Lohr, Kayla (Lee) Sugg, Lexi Wrenn, Canyen Whitesell, Reid Roberts and Taya Roberts; two great grandchildren, Macklin Lohr and Paisley Sugg; and a sister, Linda (Dwane) Goodman.

A service to celebrate Jimmie’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 7, 2026 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
