John Monroe Albright

John Monroe Albright, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the Hospice Home surrounded by his family. He was born on February 29, 1940 in Alamance County to the late Glenn Sam Albright and Alice Combs Albright. John was the husband of 58 years to the love of his life Carolyn Greeson Albright of the home.

 John retired after 30 years with Dexco as a machinist, but before Dexco he formerly worked at Kayser-Roth Hosiery. He was a member of Brick Church and a US Army veteran. John enjoyed hunting, trapping, working with his wife with their Honey Bees and growing Day Lillies. He also enjoyed teaching his grandsons all about hunting and fishing, and he loved watching and supporting them in their sporting events. Most of all John loved spending time with his family, especially his grandsons.

 Survivors other than his wife, Carolyn Albright include a son, John “Johnny” William Albright and wife Erica; three grandsons, Dillon Albright and wife Tara, Austin Albright and fiancé Emery Pulido, and Dalton Albright and wife Megan; sisters, Chattie Bailey and husband Ed, and June Smoake and husband Donald; a brother, Jasper Albright and wife Sandra; and several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Roy Albright, Rosemary Cobb Chase, Peggy Hinton, David Albright, Glenn T. Albright, Lula Mae Shepherd and Lee Dixon.

 The family would like to express their appreciation to the Hospice Nurses and Staff for all their compassion and loving care that was shown to John during his illness, and for the support that was given to their family.

 The funeral service to celebrate the life of John will be held at 4:00pm Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Brick Church by Rev. Geoff LaLone and Rev. Buck Cochran with the burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30pm to 3:45pm Tuesday prior to the service and other times at the residence.
