John Honeycutt

Burlington, NC John Princeton Honeycutt, age 94, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 3, 2010. He was a native of Sampson County and the husband of the late Bernice Hupp Barbee Honeycutt. John retired from Nichols Pontiac after many years and was a member of Ireland Street Chapel. He served in the US Army during WWII in the European Theatre and was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Survivors include his son, David Honeycutt and his wife, Susan of Elon; grandchildren, Jonathan Honeycutt, Michael Honeycutt, Lauren Barbee, Ross and Karis Barbee; two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, son, Jerry Barbee; parents, John C. and Annie Savannah Tew Honeycutt and five brothers. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 5, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Eddie Schwartz and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service and other times at the home of David and Susan Honeycutt on Cook Road in Elon.
