John Pennington

John Wesley Pennington, age 70, passed away Tuesday October 11, 2016 at his home.
A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Nathan Ila and Evie Swaim Pennington. He was an Army veteran during the Vietnam War, member of American Legion Post 63 and VFW Post 9899 and a former member of Glencoe Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son, Wesley Pennington, of Elon and his fiancee, Tracy Perkins; grandchildren, Caroline, Nathan and Nicholas Pennington; sister Patsy Harwood of Raritan, NJ; brothers, Howard Franklin Pennington of Elon and Donald Pennington of Westerville, OH and sister in law Jennalane Pennington of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Doris Ann Pennington and Mary Ruth Pennington; and brother, Ervin Pennington.
A private graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2016. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1-2 pm Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory.
