Joyce Junior Busick Joyce Junior Busick, 91, known by most as “Junior (aka “Jr.”)”, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, April 21st, 2026 at his home. A native of Guilford County, Junior was born March 29th, 1935 to the late Joyce Jefferson Busick, Sr. and Lillie Cook Busick.
In his high school years, Junior met and married the love of his life. He was the husband of 70 years to the late Shirley Elizabeth Stanley Busick. Junior was a simple man, yet it sustained him through many years as a farmer in the Busick community. Junior was a man of deep faith in Jesus Christ, and that faith gave him a solid and firm foundation, both physically and spiritually in life. Junior was a long-time member of Apple’s Chapel Christian Church in Gibsonville, NC. He loved his family and enjoyed being around them and planting seeds of life that they will remember all their lives.
After his wife, Shirley, passed away, Junior was fortunate enough to have his children look after his needs. They include his sons: Mitchell Dean Busick, Sr. and his wife, Mendi, of Archdale, NC and Michael Wayne Busick and his wife, Linda, of Gibsonville, NC; his daughters: Pamela Jane Yount and her husband, Danny, of Granite Falls, NC and Melinda Joyce Allison and her husband, Les, of McLeansville, NC. Junior is survived also by his grandchildren: Alisha Jones, Jennifer Shelton, Katherine Allison, Crystal Busick, Jason Yount and Michael Busick, Jr.; and many great-grandchildren. Junior is also survived by a sister, Regina Johnson of Browns Summit, NC.
Along with his parents and wife, Junior was proceeded in death by his older brother, Glenn Thomas Busick, his twin brother, James Jefferson Busick and a grandson, Mitchell Dean Busick, Jr.
On Saturday, April 25th, 2026, the family will receive friends prior to the funeral service, from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm at the church. The main “celebration of life” service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Apples Chapel Christian Church in Gibsonville, NC. The services will be officiated by Reverend Dave Johnson and Reverend Allen Myers. There will also be a graveside service to follow at the church cemetery.
