Joyce Marie Inge Walker, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. A native of Alamance County, she was born on August 12, 1936 to the late Berkley Howard and Mattie Josephine Saul Inge and was the wife of 30 years to the late Lonnie Walker.
Joyce was a member of Westside Fellowship Church and retired from the City of Burlington after many years of service. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Joyce possessed an incredible resilience and strength throughout her life even in the midst of some difficult times. She was known for her warm-loving personality, her endearing smile and her zest for living life to the very fullest. She was a faithful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a friend to many.
Survivors include her daughters, Donna Marie Preddy (Allen), Jodi Annette Moody (Ricky); grandchildren, Christopher Hurst, Katie Osborne (Kraig), Jacob Danieley (Elizabeth), Chris Moody (Nellary), Dustin Moody; great grandchildren, Xander McAnaw, Memphis Osborne, Gryffin Osborne, Jaden Danieley, Lilly Danieley, Maisie Danieley, Branch Moody, Norris Moody, Banks Moody and Aven Moody. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; sons, Timothy Lee Rogers, David Anthony Rogers; sister, Faye Hartley and brothers, Bob Inge and Ken Inge.
A service to celebrate Joyce’s life will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, July 31, 2026 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at her residence.
