Judith Capps Johnson

Judith Capps Johnson, affectionately known as Pug, passed away on November 20, 2023. She was born on October 10, 1946, in Alamance County, NC. A dedicated worker and a loving family member, Judith's life was characterized by her headstrong nature, strong work ethic, and unwavering love for her family.

Judith spent many years of her life working in the retail industry. Her commitment to her career was unmatched, and she approached every task with utmost determination. Colleagues and friends remember her as a hard worker who always went the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. Her dedication left a lasting impact on those she worked with, setting an example of excellence that won't be forgotten.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Judith found great joy and solace in attending Cornerstone Baptist Church. She eagerly participated in all aspects of church life and was an active member of the Ladies Circle. Her faith was unwavering, providing her with strength and comfort throughout her life's journey.

Family meant everything to Judith. She cherished her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Left to honor her memory are her daughter, Sherry Blankenship (Paul) and Donna Hayden; grandchildren, Summer Farlow (Ethan), Cody Blankenship, Cassey Blankenship, and Shanna Lea; great-grandchildren, Ava Grace Blankenship, Madalyn Grace Boardman, and Benjamin Boardman; and siblings, Edna Younger, Patricia Morris, and Cheryl Dawson.  Judith was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Hackney Capps and Evelyn Blanchard Capps; husband, Kenneth Reid Johnson; daughter, Debbie Lynn Johnson; son, Kenneth Eugene Johnson; and siblings, Mary Turner, Rebecca Anderson, Charlie Capps Jr., Richard Capps, and Samuel Capps.

A celebration of Judith’s life will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 11:45 AM - 12:45 PM prior to the service.  Interment will immediately follow the service at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum.
