Julia Marie Hogan Hinsdale, 98, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at her residence, surrounded by those who cherished her most. She was born on October 20, 1927 in Orange County, NC to the late Paul Weldon Hogan, Sr. and Annie Mitchell Hogan, and was the wife to the late Joseph “Joe” Hinsdale, who passed in 2023. Julia’s journey was marked by unwavering devotion to her loved ones and a gentle spirit that touched all who knew her.
A beloved homemaker and talented seamstress, she provided general alterations for the community, including creating beautiful bridesmaids' dresses for weddings and clothing for her family and friends. Her life was a true testament to her devotion to her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Julia found her greatest joy in the presence of her family. She was a faithful member of Ireland Street Chapel, where her deep love of the Lord was shared with others. Julia enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking and baking, often blessing others with her meals and desserts as she always gave full attention and love to her family.
Julia is survived by her loving children, Ronnie Hinsdale and his wife Judy, and Donna Hinsdale Hursey and her husband Don. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Brandon Hinsdale, Kim Faucette and husband Andy, Kenneth Hursey and wife Annie, Kara Wright and husband Larry, and Jonathan Blackard and wife Ashlee; and through the laughter and light of her great-grandchildren, Kennedy Faucette, Davis Faucette, Lexie Hinsdale, Mariah Wright, Justus Wright, Edyn Wright, Karis Wright, Tynslee Wright, Paxton Blackard, and Porter Blackard; a sister, Nancy Baity and was also a dear aunt to several nieces and nephews.
Julia has now been reunited with her family that preceded her in death, her beloved husband of 76 years, Joseph "Joe" Beine Hinsdale; her parents; a brother, Paul Weldon Hogan, Jr.; and her sisters, Katherine VanVynckt and Irene Head. Their memories live on in the stories shared and the love that still binds the family together.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the hospice nurses and caregivers for the special care and support that was given to their mother. They especially would like to express their gratitude to her caregivers, Sharon McBroom, Shirley Shaw and Phillip Leath for all their loving care, compassion and dedication that was shown to their mother during her illness.
The funeral service to celebrate the life of Julia will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Larry Wright and Pastor David Grinnell with the burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm to 1:45pm Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
Proverbs 31:10 “Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.”
Proverbs 31:28 “Her children arise up and call her blessed: her husband also and he praiseth her.”
Julia’s legacy of love and devotion will forever inspire her family and friends, a shining example of a life well-lived and a heart that loved deeply.
