Katherine Maness Rudd

June 20, 1944 — May 25, 2025

Burlington

Grace Katherine Maness Rudd, 80, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family. She was born in Alamance County and was the daughter of the late Wilbert Jasper and Malissa Phillips Maness. Katherine was married for 47 years to the late Jerry Wayne Rudd.

Katherine was a devoted wife, momma, and MawMaw. She was in the first graduating class of Eastern High School in 1963 and graduated from the Technical Institute of Alamance (ACC). Katherine worked at Kaiser Roth just after graduation. Katherine previously served on the Alamance County Board of Mental Health and was also a crop insurance agent with the family business for several years after serving her family on the farm. Her family loved her homemade biscuits and fried chicken. Momma often had a hot meal ready during the breaks from the tobacco fields. Whatever she did, her priority was being a wife to her husband, momma to her girls and MawMaw to her grandbabies. Katherine was fun-loving and full of joy. She enjoyed music, dancing in the kitchen or car, painting, sewing, loved elephants, and was an avid Elvis Presley fan. She was a giving and caring momma and MawMaw who loved to laugh. Katherine loved her family and was always ready to take a trip. She joined her girls on several camping trips to the beach and West Virginia and weekend trips to Tennessee.

Most of all, she loved Jesus. She was a member of Long’s Chapel Christian Church, where she and Jerry were married in 1966. As she got older, she often talked about how comforting it was to talk with God. She is finally without pain, suffering, crippling disease, and is running the streets of heaven worshipping her Savior.

Katherine is survived by her daughters, Kimery “Kim” Braxton and husband, Mike of Graham, Kristen “Kris” Moser of Burlington, Kelly Bollinger and husband, Daniel of Burlington and Karen Morris and husband, Allen of Burlington; her grandchildren, Malissa (Scott) Griffin, Amy (Ryan) Worley, Elton (Elana) Carnes, Jesse (Haven) Money, Jerrie (Tyler) Bollinger-Barrow, Levi Bollinger, Alley Morris and Adam Morris; her great- grandchildren, Oakley, Stetson, and Michael Griffin, Luke and Owen Worley, and William Kelly Barrow; her brother, Roger Maness and wife, Priscilla of Burlington and her sister-in-law, Linda Maness of Snow Camp. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother, Wayne Maness.
