Kenneth Earl Caulder, born January 16, 1936, in Fayetteville, NC, passed away on May 21, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving two tours during the Vietnam War as a helicopter pilot in the Special Forces. Following his military service, Kenneth worked in maintenance at a machining corporation.
Kenneth enjoyed woodworking and took pride in making furniture for his grandchildren. He was an avid golfer, a devoted churchgoer, and known among friends and family as an excellent storyteller with a great sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Gale Workman Caulder; daughter, Patricia Caulder Campbell; daughter-in-law, Pam Caulder; six grandchildren, Kristian Caulder, Dana Mitchell, Jessica Ayala, Steven Scott, Melanie Mitchell and Dylan Caulder; eight great-grandchildren, Caleb Caulder, Natisha Caulder, Manti Mitchell, Layla Mitchell, Jayla Atwater, Hunter Ayala, Bailey Atwater and Memphis Caulder; two great-great-grandchildren, Kingston Mitchell and Ella Mitchell; and brother, Gary Wayne Caulder.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Jeanette Jacobs Caulder; son, Kenneth Earl "K.C." Caulder, Jr., and his parents, Eddie J. Caulder and Ethel Constance Bass Caulder.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Steve Loy. Interment will follow at Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 1:45 PM Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
