Kevin Ryan Hamilton

April 22, 1989 — November 28, 2025

Burlington

Kevin Ryan Hamilton, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away suddenly on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the age of 36. He was born on April 22, 1989, in Shelby, TN. Kevin lived a life stitched together with laughter, loyalty, and a quiet, unwavering devotion to the people around him, and the echo of his absence has settled heavily in the hearts of all who loved him. Kevin was a man whose spirit and talents left a profound impact on everyone he encountered.

Kevin was well-known as the lead carpenter with Revel Build Company in Durham, where his meticulous craftsmanship and innovative solutions earned him the admiration of colleagues and clients alike. Often referred to as a “Handy Man,” he possessed an extraordinary ability and “magic touch” to build and fix just about anything, reflecting both his impressive skill set and his unyielding commitment to quality. Yet the true magic was the way he repaired spirits just as easily as he fixed anything else. His outgoing personality enabled him to connect easily with those around him, making him not only an excellent carpenter but also a cherished friend who would willingly turn a troubled moment into one wrapped in reassurance and laughter. He had a way of arriving exactly when someone needed him most.

Outside of work, Kevin cherished the moments spent with his family and friends in the simple corners of life. His love for family was evident in every aspect of his life, as he devoted time to creating lasting memories with them. Whether boating at Hyco Lake, riding his mini-bike, riding four-wheelers and side by sides, playing golf, cooking on the pig cooker, venturing through the great outdoors, or simply soaking in the company around him, Kevin’s zest for life was infectious.

Although Kevin's journey on earth was cut short, he leaves behind an unforgettable legacy, woven with laughter, love, and shared memories by his loving wife of seven years, Bethany Neary Hamilton, and their two beautiful daughters, Carly and Abby, whom he cherished. Kevin found his greatest companion in her, and their love was unmistakably the kind people search for their whole lives. With her, Kevin found a sense of home—steady, joyful, and entirely his. He also leaves behind his mother, Robin Gonia, and her husband, Danny; his father, Richard Hamilton, and his wife, Nancy; and his siblings, Justin Hamilton and his wife, Sarah, Chad Hamilton and his wife, Courtney, and Traci Kinsey and her husband, Ben. He was a son and brother in every sense of the word--steadfast, teasing, protective, and devoted. The warmth of his presence will be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews—Katelyn, Lauren, Rheece, Jaxton, Allison, and Joshua—who found joy in his playful spirit and kind heart; an uncle, Casey Truckner; his In-laws, Douglas and Sharon Neary; and a sister-in-law, Tricia Bordeaux and her husband Chris.

The void he leaves will be felt deeply by his extended family, which includes, Adam and Melissa Quimby and their children, Makayla, Savannah, and Madison, Ryan Collins and his children, Kyleigh, Ryan, and Blake, Mike and Barb Olasin and their children, Khole, Cory, and Matt, Kim and Brian Jones and their children, Karoline, Jarred, Kinsley and Michael, Arlow Quimby and Mike and Lee Copp will also carry his memory into their hearts forever. He was preceded in death by his canine companion, Max, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge, who was his “good boy” by his side throughout many adventures, sharing in his love for the great outdoors. Kevin was a dear friend to more people than can be counted and one whose name will be spoken with a soft smile for years to come.

The funeral service to celebrate the life of Kevin will be held at 6:00 pm Thursday evening, December 4, 2025, at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Cleve May and Pastor Douglas Neary. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday night at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and at other times at Chad and Courtney Hamilton's residence in Whitsett.

To know Kevin was to know movement—energy, humor, generosity. He was a fixer, a do-er, a man who showed up. A fierce competitor, the funniest voice in the room, and the friend who made ordinary moments feel like stories worth remembering.

The world feels quieter without him, but his legacy remains in the laughter he sparked, the hands he helped steady, and the countless memories held by those he loved. Kevin leaves this life surrounded by the echoes of every moment he brightened, every person he lifted, every heart he touched.

His story will be told again and again—because good men live on in the way they made others feel, and Kevin made this world warmer, fuller, and far more beautiful than he ever realized.

As we remember Kevin, let us celebrate the love he shared and the lives he touched. His memory will forever be bright in our hearts, reminding us to embrace every moment and cherish our loved ones.
