Larry "Big L" Junior Evans

Larry Junior Evans, 71, of Greensboro, North Carolina, passed away on September 13, 2023. Larry, as he was commonly known, was born on February 7, 1952, in Burlington, N.C., to Walter W. Newell and Nannie Evans Newell. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother, David Newell.

Larry loved his family dearly and found joy in cooking for them and his friends. He also had a passion for fishing and hunting, activities that allowed him to connect with nature. Spending time with his granddaughter, Autumn Evans, brought him immense happiness.

Larry dedicated many years of his life to running heavy equipment. He spent over 35 years working on Faucette Farms in Browns Summit, NC, where he was highly valued for his hard work and dedication.

Outside of work, Larry indulged in his hobbies of fishing, hunting, and cooking. These activities provided him with a sense of relaxation and fulfillment.

Larry will be deeply missed by his surviving family members, including his loving wife of 52 years, Polly Staley Evans, his sons Michael Evans and Jeremy Evans, his granddaughter Autumn Evans, and his sisters June Newell Watson and spouse Larry, Betty Newell, and Barbara Newell. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

Visitation will be at Lowe Funeral Home on Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 6 pm. to 8 pm. A funeral service to celebrate Larry's life will be held at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at 4:30 pm, officiated by Pastor Walter Jones.

Larry Junior Evans will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his work, and his passion for the outdoors. May he rest in peace.
