Larry Deon Smith

Mr. Larry Deon Smith, 80, of Burlington passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. 

Larry was born August 16, 1943 in Cleveland County, NC to Roy Smith and Rose Lee Boles Smith.  He proudly served in the US Army and upon returning to civilian life, began working for the Defense Contract Audit Agency.   He retired after many years of service.   Known for his big personality, Larry loved to get out and be around people and his many friends will miss their visits with him.

 Larry is survived by his wife, Doris Farmer Smith; sons, Larry Deon Smith, II of Burlington and Andrew Douglas Smith of Spring Lake; grandson, Dylan Smith; sisters, Roseanne Hovis of Lincolnton and Sandra Hensley of Marion; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 Burial will take place at Salisbury National Cemetery at a later date.
