Leon Clifton Butch Tiny Wilkinson, 62, of 908 Durham St., died Saturday, November 10, 2007 at Veterans Administration Hospital in Durham, NC after several months of failing health. A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Joseph Lemuel Wilkinson and Mary Porter Wilkinson, who survives. He retired from the U.S. Army after serving three terms of duty during the Vietnam War. He was of the Baptist faith and was an avid woodworker. Butch is survived by his mother of the home; three sisters, Linda W. Bulla, Wanda Jones and her husband, Tim, and Carol Braxton, all of Burlington; two brothers, Stephen Wilkinson and his wife, Phalba, of Gibsonville and Norman Wilkinson and his wife, Brenda, of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 15, 2007 at Alamance Memorial Park by the Rev. Bobby Fann and the Rev. Bennie Smith. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
