Leroy Hensley

Burlington – Leroy Hensley, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born in Alamance county to the late Charlie Roy and Daisy Sessoms Hensley. He was the husband of 49 years to the late Nora Brown Hensley.

Leroy retired after 42 years with Burlington Industries. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and former member of Glen Hope Baptist Church where he sang in the church choir. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Leroy is survived by his daughters, Brenda Hudson and husband, Ronald of Burlington and Elizabeth Roney and husband, Charles of Suffolk, Virginia; grandchildren, Amanda Kelly (Louie) Bonfanti, Matthew Lee Tuck, Branden Nathaniel Roney and Zachary Noah Roney; great grandchildren, Tyler Lee Tuck and Connor Mathew Tuck; sister, Mozelle Stinson of Burlington and a brother, John Henry “Johnny” Hensley and his wife, Alice of Graham. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Linda Jane Hensley; sister, Barbara “Sissy” Stinson and a son-in-law, Tony Tuck.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bob Stephenson and burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Tuesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and other times at the home of his daughter, Brenda Hudson.
