Leroy Shelton Seawell

Leroy “Buddy” Shelton Seawell, 82, passed away peacefully on May 12,2025. Born December 4, 1942 in Sanford, North Carolina, he is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy Bunton Seawell; children Hope Maier (Alex) and Mark Seawell (Kristine); and four grandchildren, Graciana Maier, Caroline Maier, Eli Seawell, and Liam Seawell. He is also survived by siblings Carolyn Bowman, Delois Pierce (Larry), and Bill Seawell (Judy); and predeceased by his father, Lloyd Shelton Seawell, Mother, Rita Mae Rackley Snow; and step father, Thomas Snow; sisters Ida Mae Austin and Claudia Bolen; as well as brother Gary Seawell. 

Buddy was a proud member of the Army Signal Corps from 1967-1969 and served in the Vietnam War. After completing his service, he worked as a television repairman for many years and, even after retirement, continued to enjoy fixing electronics and tinkering on projects in his workshop. He will be missed for his sense of humor, love of gadgets, and ability to grow the best muscadine grapes in Guilford County. 

A man of strong faith, Buddy was a member of Buchanan Baptist Church in Greensboro. A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 2:00PM at Gibsonville City Cemetery by Pastor Donnie Phillips. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45PM on Thursday prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
