It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda-Lou Urlaub Kepka, who departed this world on January 10, 2026, just days shy of her 76th birthday. Born on January 13, 1950, in DuPage County, Illinois, Linda-Lou touched many lives with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit.
Linda-Lou dedicated several years of her career to JR Tobacco, where her cheerful demeanor and hardworking nature made a lasting impression on her colleagues. Beyond her professional life, she was an avid reader and an accomplished seamstress. Her creativity and talent were not only hobbies but also extensions of her generous heart, as she often shared her skills to help others, particularly young students whom she proudly tutored.
She passed away peacefully at Oakes of Alamance, surrounded by the memories of a life well-lived and the love she shared with those fortunate enough to call her a friend. Among these cherished friends are Jim and Jane McIver, alongside Donna King and Brandon, who will hold their memories of her close to their hearts in the days to come. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald James Kepka and her parents.
Linda-Lou Urlaub Kepka will be remembered not just for her passions and her career, but for the gentleness she brought into the lives of everyone around her and for her beautiful smile. Her legacy will continue to inspire, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
