Mrs. Linda W. Mundy Newbold, age 63, of 1362 Hanford Hills Rd., died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at the Hospice Home after a year of failing heath. A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Otis and Frances Perry and was married to James "Jim" Newbold, who survives. She was a former employee of Western Electric and was recently employed with Lab Corp and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Newbold is survived by her husband of the home; a daughter, Sheri M. Jacobs and her husband, George of Burlington; two sons, Robin Mundy and his wife, Stephanie, and Chris Mundy all of Burlington; six grandchildren, Marc, Tucker, and Sara Jacobs and Chase, Caroline and McKray Mundy; step children, Tonya Berry, Lisa Bishop and Jay Newbold; three step grandchildren, Isabel Bishop, Colby Chambers and Caytlyn Berry; two brothers, Gene Perry and wife, Pat, and Ricky Perry and wife, Shelia; and four sisters, Brenda Isley and husband, Steve, Beverly Overman and husband, Toby, Pat Blackburn, Doris Davis and Barbara Gail Waddell and husband, Leon. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Timothy Thomas Mundy. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Bethel Baptist Church by Pastor Rick Chandler. Interment will follow at Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Saturday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the ladies from Bethel Baptist and also the staff of the Hospice Home for all the loving care and support given to Mrs. Newbold.
