Linda Shoe Johnson, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 8, 2025. A native of Alamance County, she was born on April 19, 1943 to the late Loftin Shoe and Virginia Farrell who survives and was the wife of 46 years to the late Paul Johnson.
Linda was a longtime member of Trinity Worship Center in Burlington and a member of the first graduating class of Southern Alamance High School in 1961. She worked at Kayser-Roth Hosiery Mill before becoming a homemaker and raising five children.
Linda enjoyed having and tending to many beautiful flowers, collecting antique art glass, working jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her family. She also loved taking trips to Florida and the beach when she was able.
Linda is survived by her daughters, Lisa Jones (Dale) of Gibsonville, Kay Babel (Chris) of Mebane, Angela Johnson of Burlington; son, Mark Johnson of Gibsonville; mother, Virginia Farrell of Gibsonville; brothers, Jimmy Shoe (Joan) of Mebane, Michael Shoe of Graham; sister, Kathy Shronce of Gibsonville; five grandchildren, one great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, David Johnson and father, Loftin Shoe.
A service to celebrate Linda’s life will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Darryl Peebles with the burial to follow at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery in Snow Camp. The family will receive friends from 1 – 1:45 prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory in Burlington.
