Lois Whitt Clapp

Lois Ann Whitt Clapp, 83, passed peacefully at home on Sunday, July 19, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was a native of Alamance County and the daughter of the late Kenneth James and Brona Sue Bradshaw Whitt. She was the wife of the late Wayne Clapp.

Lois retired from Carolina Biological after 40 years of service. She enjoyed watching westerns on TV and listening to country music. Lois enjoyed most of all spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Wanda Coble of Elon and Susan McAlexander of Jamestown; her sons, Wayne Clapp of Knoxville, Tennessee and Robert Clapp of Elon; her grandchildren, Kimberly Patterson, Jason (Amanda) Clapp, Steven (Maranda) Clapp, Christina (Eric) Perry and Ashely Kelly; 7 great grandchildren and her brother, Ervin Whitt of Saxapahaw. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers, Garland, Clarence and Gene Whitt.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 11AM at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friend from 9:30AM until 10:45AM prior to the service and other times at the home.
