Mrs. Lona Mae Troxler Wicker, age 94, of 7457 Brooks Bridge Rd., passed away at her home at 7:35 PM Tuesday October 18, 2005. A native of Alamance County, she was wife of the late Slocum M. Wicker and daughter of the late Robert Banks and Daisy Etta Smithey Troxler. She was a former employee of May Hosiery and she farmed with her husband Slocum. She was a lifetime member of Shiloh United Methodist Church where she formerly taught Sunday School and was a member of the church choir. She is survived by 3 sisters, Mrs. Mary Wade, Mrs. Irene Howerton and husband Garland and Mrs. Lora Wade and husband Robert all of Gibsonville; 43 nieces and nephews; and a special niece and nephew, Pepper, Christy and Holly Wade who made their home with her and cared for her. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 sisters, Alice Lewis, Estelle Troxler and Kate McMillan; 9 brothers, Willie Troxler, Ira Troxler, David B.C. Troxler, Wilbert Troxler, Robert Troxler, Edward Troxler and Howard Troxler. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at the Shiloh United Methodist Church by Rev. Ronnie Richard Dawson, pastor of the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Wicker will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 PM Thursday. At other times at the home.
