Louise Mercer Roberts

Louise Mercer Roberts, 88, went home to be with her heavenly Father on Saturday, June 13, 2026. She was born in Wilson County and was the daughter of the late Thomas Byard Mercer and Iva Worrell Mercer. She shared more than 50 wonderful years of marriage with the love of her life, the late Carlton A. Roberts.

She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and faithfully served as a Sunday school teacher at Faith Bible Fellowship for many years. Louise also led a community ladies Bible study. She had a special love for flowers and gardening, a passion she shared with her mother. Louise enjoyed listening daily to the Bible Broadcasting Network (BBN), as well as working puzzles and word searches in her spare time. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who truly loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her three sons, Jeff Roberts and wife Cyndi, Neil Roberts and wife Vickie and Louis Roberts and wife Jessica; nine grandchildren, David, Dana and husband Tim, Jonathan, Jennifer and husband JP, Joshua and wife Candace, Hannah and husband Jimmy, Kaitlyn, Kourtney and husband Tyler, and Austin; seven great grandchildren, Alexander, Anastasia, Tristan, Oliver, Jordan, Cole, Daniel and one on the way; sister, Linda Lamm; as well as several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters, Isadore Baker, Helen Ruth Page, Ruby Williams Thorpe, Faye Tew and brothers, Bill and Roney Mercer.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at Faith Bible Fellowship in Raleigh by David Morris. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:45 PM prior to the service at the church. The graveside service will be private.
