Lowell Allen Hatcher, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on August 6, 2025, at Alamance Regional. He was born on February 1, 1941, in Rockingham County to Leslie Edgar Hatcher and Martha Gauldin Hatcher. Lowell’s journey began in the heart of a close-knit family. He dedicated a remarkable 57 years of marriage to his cherished wife, Pamela Hatcher, with whom he shared countless dance floors, laughter, and a love for beach music and R&B. Lowell was a dedicated tool and dye specialist who retired after thirty plus years from Sonoco Products.
An athlete in his youth, Lowell played football for Morehead High School in Eden, NC., the team he played on won the state championship for two consecutive years. His competitive spirit never wavered, Lowell earned a spot on the Wall of Fame at Thirsty's in Greensboro. He enjoyed showcasing his love for rhythm and movement.
Lowell served his country honorably in the United States Air Force, bringing discipline and dedication to his service, traits that would characterize his life thereafter. He cherished the time spent with his family, finding joy in simple moments.
He leaves behind his son, Shane Hatcher, and two grandchildren, Steven Hatcher and Alexis Hatcher, who will carry forward the legacy of his love and values. Also surviving him are his brother, Irvin Hatcher (Vickie), along with many nieces and nephews.
Lowell Allen Hatcher's life was marked by love, laughter, and a deep affection for family. He touched the lives of many and will be fondly remembered. His family will forever love and miss him.
