LuAnn Childers Veiga, 73, passed away unexpectedly following a brief illness on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born in Alamance County to the late Jack Dwight Childers and Mary Ellen Reid Childers.
LuAnn was a faithful member of Brick Reformed Church, where she found joy in her faith and community. She had a deep love for flowers and spent several years working as a florist, sharing her creativity and bringing beauty into the lives of others. Her passions extended beyond her work—she found happiness in tending to her garden, canning the fruits of her labor, cooking for her family and friends, enjoying peaceful days at the beach, and spending time shopping for those she loved.
Above all, LuAnn will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, creating memories filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. Her presence brought comfort and happiness to those around her and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children, Jennifer Holcomb (Donnie), Holly Ingle, and Jack Veiga (Ashley), furbaby Cooper; grandchildren, Brittney Caissie (Daniel), Matthew Holcomb (Sona), Kodi Dains (Dylan), Kyrstin Ward (Matthew), Tanner Holcomb (Paul), Karson Dennis (Noah), Braxton Veiga (Hannah), Camden Doutt, Anistyn Branch and Jacklyn Veiga; great grandchildren, Liam and Colton Caissie; and a sister, Karen Stone (Tom). She is also survived by numerous beloved family members, lifelong friends, and cherished church and beach communities.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 3, 2026 at Brick Reformed Church by Pastor Geoff LaLone with interment to follow in Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30–1:45 prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home.
