BURLINGTON- Mrs. Lucille Clayton Fletcher, age 93, of 343 Baldwin Rd., Apt D-1 #6, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Alamance Health Care after several months of failing health. Born in Person County, she was the daughter of the late Baxter Allen Clayton and the late Minnie Lou Watson Clayton and was married to James Curtis Fletcher, who died in 2009. Lucille retired from Hinshaw's Manufacturing and was a longtime member of Front St. United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Builder's Sunday School Class. She was an avid sports fan, especially liking basketball, softball and bowling. Mrs. Fletcher is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou Tucker of Ocala, FL; grandson, Daniel J. Tucker of Arlington, VA; several loving and caring nieces and nephews and their families; and a dear family friend, Nancy Bell. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; her son-in-law, Franklin Tucker; a sister, Erma Clayton Pittard and husband, Gilbert; and a brother, Allen Yancy Clayton and wife, Joann. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Nathan D. Arledge. Entombment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 2 2:45 Sunday afternoon prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Front St. United Methodist Church, 136 S. Fisher St., Burlington, NC 27215 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
