Lucille "Lucy" Webster Massey

Lucille “Lucy” Webster Massey, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2025 at Countryside Manor in Stokesdale surrounded by her loving family.

Born on December 31, 1928 in Caswell County, Lucille enjoyed the outdoors spending time in her little garden, enjoyed cooking her famous pound cakes and old fashion banana pudding that all enjoyed. After retiring from Tower Hosiery Mill, she went to work at JR Outlet where she enjoyed greeting and assisting customers.

Above all else, Lucy cherished her family. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth “Libby” Boggs and her husband Richard and her son, Donald T. “Tommy” Massey and wife Druanne.

Her legacy continues thorough her grandchildren, W.D. Lowe, Jr. and wife Andrea, Stephen Massey and wife Jessica and Andrea Massey; two great grandchildren, Faith Lowe Basham and Abigail Massey; sister, Grace W. Vernon and a brother, J. Leon Webster.

Lucy has now been reunited with her husband, Luther Mack Massey; daughter, Donna M. Lowe; grandchild Baby Lowe; parents, Dewey Thomas Webster and Sallie Mae Murray Webster; sisters, Thelma L. Webster, Bessie M. Webster and Mary L. Webster; brothers, Charlie W. Webster and Brodie Webster.

The family would like to express many warm thanks to all of the staff at Countryside Manor of Stokesdale as well as AuthoraCare Collective (Hospice) of Greensboro.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, June 20, 2025 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bud Parrish with the burial to follow at Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 – 1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home and other times…
