Luther Jones

Luther Tillery Jones, 74, formerly of Oxford Lane passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville. He was born in Edgecombe County and was the son of the late John Theodore and Eva Newsome Jones. He was formerly employed with Cone Mills as a truck driver and was a member of Burlington Assembly of God. Luther was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his daughters, Linda Marie Jones and Shary Jones, both of Portland, ME; sons, Michael Thomas Jones and Gary Gene Jones, both of Portland, ME; ten grandchildren; sisters, Ola Mae Moy of Stoney Creek, Dorothy "Dot" Ray Ewing of Burlington and Shirley Virginia Brown of Locust Grove, GA; brother, Thomas O. Jones of Lexington and former wife, Dorothy Callahan Jones of Maine. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Howard Thompson with burial to follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
