Lynn Walters Blackwell

Lynn Walters Blackwell, 95, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. He was born on May 19, 1927 in Alamance County to the late Arthur Eugene “A.E.” Blackwell and Bessie Vaughn Blackwell and was the husband of 60 years to the late Josephine “Jo” Starnes Blackwell who died in 2007.

He retired as part owner and operator of A.E. Blackwell and Sons Grading Company. He was a US WWII Navy veteran, who served in the South Pacific. Lynn was a member of the VFW Post 10607, American Legion Post 0063 and was of the Catholic faith.

Lynn is survived by his sons, David Blackwell and Stephen Blackwell; daughter-in-law, Tina Slade Blackwell; grandchildren, Tiffany Blackwell, Jennifer McDaniel, Jeremy Blackwell, Christopher Blackwell, Kaitlyn Bullington and Elizabeth Brown; great grandchildren, Kala Everhart, Carlyn Everhart, Chole Joyce, Karaline Blackwell, Lydia Bullington, Ashley Tomchick and Christopher Brown; and his great great grandchildren, Isabelle Brown, Oliver Brown and Caius Everhart.  He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a son, Jeffrey Blackwell and siblings, J. Vernon Blackwell and Doris B. Braxton.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Father Peter Tymko with the entombment to follow at the Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7pm Monday at the funeral home.
