Maggie Saunders Satterfield, a beacon of love and resilience, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2025, at the age of 87. Born in Alamance County on September 24, 1937, Maggie's life was a tapestry of family, faith, and dedication, woven together with the warmth that she so generously shared with all who knew her.

Maggie was a trailblazer in her career, being the first woman to rewire motors in Alamance County with Burlington Industries. She later lent her skills to Clayton Electric, where her talents shone brightly. In the latter part of her professional journey, she became a beloved member of the Good Samaritan team, forming lifelong friendships that enriched her life and the lives of those around her.

To her children, David Satterfield (Kim), Nancy Hodge (Tommy), and Donald Satterfield (Dionne), Maggie was more than just a mother; she was their guiding star, always supportive and loving. Her grandchildren, Kristen Williams (Tommy), Wesley Satterfield, Blake Hodge (Alex), Melia Starnes (Cameron), and Dianne Summey (Rex); great grandchildren, Tristen Williams, Kaiden, Westen, and Carson Satterfield, Tyler Wheeley (Lacie), Abby and Cami Starnes, Makayla Cloer (Austin) and Megan Summey; great, great grandchildren, Walker Thomas Wheeley, Weston Lee Cloer and Oakley Dianne Cloer, cherished every moment spent with her. She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Thompson (Sam) and Peggy Pickard; and her sisters-in-law, Barbara Saunders and Glenda Saunders; and numerous nieces and nephews. Maggie embraced her role as a Maw Maw, a sister and an aunt with open arms and an open heart, leaving an indelible mark on their lives through her kindness and wisdom.

Maggie's steadfastness was evident not only in her career but also in her loving marriage to Clarence Junior Satterfield, who predeceased her. Their bond exemplified a love that was both profound and resilient, a true partnership that will be remembered fondly by all who witnessed it.

Maggie joins her beloved husband, Clarence, her parents, Leonard Eugene Saunders and Mary Ella Danieley Saunders, in eternal rest, along with her three brothers and four sisters. As we remember Maggie, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and passion, defined by love, warmth, and a spirit that inspired so many. Her legacy will continue through her family and friends, and she will be deeply missed by all whose lives were touched by her incredible heart.
