Margaret Allred

Gibsonville Margaret Kellis Allred, age 80, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Hospice Home after a brief critical illness and a several year battle with Parkinson's Disease. A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of the late Donald R. Allred and daughter of the late Martin A. and Louise Asbile Kellis. She was employed by the Alamance County Credit Bureau for many years and later with Community Federal Savings and Loan. She was a member of Gibsonville United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. Survivors include her son, Kelly Allred and wife Lisa of Burlington; grandchildren, Jordan Allred and Hunter Allred; three nephews that were raised along side Margaret in her parents home, W. L. Tilley and wife, Pat, Delmar E. Tilley and wife, Brenda and Chris M. Tilley; two sister in laws, Lois Kellis and Helen Kellis. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Paul Kellis and Cecil Kellis and sister, Virginia Tilley. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the Gibsonville United Methodist Church in Gibsonville by Rev. Jonathan Marlowe and burial will follow in Gibsonville City Cemetery. Mrs. Allred will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to the church where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:45pm in the Church Parlor and other times the family will be at the residence.
